The Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 80 External SSD is Kingston's first innovative, OS-independent, hardware-encrypted external SSD with a touchscreen for enhanced data privacy. The VP80ES protects against brute-force attacks and BadUSB with digitally signed firmware. Brute-force protection crypto-erases the drive by default after 15 incorrect entries of admin and user passwords. The drive is FIPS 197 certified with XTS-AES 256-bit encryption using a Common Criteria EAL5+ (CC EAL5+) certified secure microprocessor and is TAA compliant.

With the user-friendly VP80ES, which unlocks as easily as a smartphone, files can be transferred via drag & drop while keeping data protected. With the Vault Privacy 80ES featuring an intuitive color touchscreen and the option for multiple passwords (Admin and User) in numeric PIN or passphrase mode, your data is significantly better protected than on the internet and cloud services.

Whether it's critical company information, customer documents, or high-resolution images and videos, the drive is perfect for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) as well as content creators. Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 adapter cables, USB-C®**-to-USB-A and USB-C-to-USB-C, are included for seamless connection to computers and other devices. It is ideal for regular data backups and protection against ransomware.

The administrator can enable a user password and set up security options, such as password requirements by setting the maximum number of shared attempts, the minimum password length from 6 to 64 characters, and alphanumeric password rules. You can also use the "space" to make a passphrase easier to remember as a list of words, a memorable quote, or the lyrics of a favorite song. Alternatively, you can unlock it like a mobile device via the PIN pad and tap the "eye" to see the entered password to avoid failed login attempts and frustration.

Furthermore, if a user password is forgotten, the admin password can be used to access data and restore user access.
