Product information

The active AXAGON ADS-1PSN USB converter easily extends the computer with an RS 232 serial port. The problem-free compatibility of the USB - Serial RS232 adapter is ensured by the use of an original chip from the Taiwanese company Prolific.

The fixed 1.5 m long USB-A cable is suitable for use with both a desktop computer and a laptop. The cable is equipped with gold-plated connectors and contacts, and the very robust adapter housing is also suitable for industrial applications. The double shielding protects the transmitted signals from negative interference.

The converter is an ideal computer accessory for connecting barcode readers, POS printers, scanners, programming devices for microcontrollers, CNC machines, modems, updating or configuring set-top boxes, alarm systems, switches, radio transceivers and other devices.

Input:
• USB 480 Mbps interface (USB 2.0), backward compatible with USB 1.1.
• Connection USB connector type A male on a fixed 1.5 m long cable.

Output:
• 1x RS232 serial port with a DB9 Male connector built into the adapter housing.
• Adjustable baud rate - in a range from 75 bps to 1000 kbps.
• Compatible with 16C950 UART, backward compatible with 16C550, 16C650, 16C750 and 16C850.

Other features:
• Plug-and-play support.
• FIFO buffer 768B (send) and 256B (receive).
• Adjustable flow control Xon/Xoff, HW-based or none.
• Adjustable word length 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 bits.
• Adjustable parity (even, odd, none, mark, space), 1, 1.5 or 2 stop bits.
• Adjustable use of FIFO buffer memory: for receive (1 - 14B) and for transmit (1 - 16B).
• Adjustable port number from COM1 to COM256.
• Power Management support
• The adapter is powered via the USB bus (Bus Power) - no additional power supply required.
• Gold-plated connectors and contacts ensure a reliable connection and, by preventing oxidation, ensure a long service life of the converter.
• Cable outer diameter 5 mm, double shielding.
• Use of original Prolific PL2303GT chipset with integrated serial line driver.
• Dimensions of the adapter housing 34 x 59 x 16 mm, cable length 1.5 m.
• Weight of the adapter 83 g (incl. cable).

Supported OS:
• MS Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10 / 11 and newer, Windows Server 2003 / 2008 / 2012 / 2016 / 2019 / 2022 and newer (support for all 32-bit and 64-bit versions of OS Windows), MacOS X 10.4.x and higher, Linux with kernel 2.6.x and higher, Android in most versions.
Note: Drivers are part of the supported operating systems and are installed fully automatically.

What are the shipping costs and how long does delivery take?
Standard shipping CHF 8.90 (B-Post, 3–5 business days) or Express CHF 23.50 (Swiss-Express "Mond", 1–2 business days) – Delivery by Swiss Post, within Switzerland only. In-stock products are usually processed within one business day; out-of-stock components are procured within 2–3 business days. Pick-up in Winterthur is free of charge.
Can I also pick up my order?
Yes – free of charge at Sulzerallee 80, 8404 Winterthur, during our opening hours. Please wait for our pick-up confirmation before coming by.
How long is my warranty?
You receive a 3-year warranty on all products purchased from us, starting from the date of delivery. For repair work carried out by us and newly installed spare parts, we provide a 2-year warranty. Report any warranty claims to info@pixelgipfel.ch before returning the item and wait for RMA confirmation.
Can I return a product?
Yes – as a private customer with a delivery address in Switzerland, you have a voluntary right of return for 14 days from receipt: 100% for unopened items, 90% for opened but unused items, and under 85% refund for used items. Excluded are custom builds, personalized products, activated software and license keys, as well as opened products that come into contact with the body (e.g., headphones, headsets, VR glasses). Please register your return in advance at info@pixelgipfel.ch – the refund will be processed within 10 business days after inspection.
What payment methods do you accept?
TWINT, common credit and debit cards, and purchase on account with partial payment option via our partner Heylight. All prices include 8.1% VAT; shipping costs will be displayed in the checkout before the order is completed.
How long does it take to assemble my custom PC?
Once all components are available, assembly, configuration, and functional testing usually take 1–2 business days. If parts are not in stock, an additional 2–3 business days for procurement will apply; for pre-orders or special procurements, it can take up to 30 days – we will inform you of any delays.
Can I cancel my order?
You can usually cancel standard products that have not yet been shipped free of charge – please contact us at info@pixelgipfel.ch. For custom builds and specially ordered products, cancellations depend on the processing status; compensation of up to 20% may be charged for work already carried out and components already ordered.
